Franco Citterio graduated from art school, and began his collaboration with the Compagnia Carlo Colla & Figli in 1979. He is a marionettist, sculptor and set designer, and since 2017 has been artistic director of the company. In recent years he has created more than 1,500 marionettes for the company’s new productions, which he directs alongside Giovanni Schiavolin.
