Francisco Martínez is a Chilean dancer, actor and choreographer who studied acting at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. He lives in Berlin and works as a freelance dancer and choreographer. In his artistic work, he explores the intersections between dance and other disciplines, drawing inspiration from visual art, architecture, design and anthropology.
Francisco Martínez has been a dancer with José Vidal & Cía since 2013. In 2019, he assisted with the choreography for Emergenz at Kampnagel in Hamburg. He also worked on the film Ema by Pablo Larraín, which was shown at major film festivals. In 2020, his duo Blue premiered in Berlin, which was shown at the ACT Festival in Bilbao in 2022. Since 2022, Francisco Martínez has worked as an assistant director on pieces by Sasha Waltz & Guests.
