The conductor, chorus master, singer and musicologist Evgeny Vorobyov studied musicology at the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory and conducting at the Moscow Conservatory. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of Regensburg.
As a singer he has performed both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. In 2015 he founded the Moscow ensemble Le Troubadour Gallant, dedicated to performing chamber vocal music of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. From 2019 to 2022 he was the chorus master at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2021 he founded the choir Parma Voices, and since 2022 he is the chorus master of the musicAeterna Choir. Recently, he has also started to work as a conductor.
Evgeny Vorobyov’s musicological research focusses on music and music theory of the 17th and 18th centuries. He has written articles for Grove Music Online and for the Orthodox Encyclopedia.
