Étienne Guiol works as a video artist for opera and dance production as well as monumental projections all over the world. Largely self-taught as a drawer and painter, he enrolled at the École Émile Cohl in Lyon in 2006 to study drawing and animation, while at the same time studying the art of making stained glass at the Centre international du Vitrail in Chartres. In 2012 he founded the BK Digital Art Company, which specializes in video creation. Since then he and his team have created videos for theatre productions in Athens, Milan, Versailles, Strasbourg, Rouen, Marseilles, Geneva, Wiesbaden, Basel and elsewhere as well as videos for projection mapping on buildings in Chartres, Lyon, Leipzig, Dubai, Jerusalem, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Casablanca and Rome. He created the video for Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri at the 2018 Salzburg Whitsun Festival.
