Eliana Stragapede

Eliana Stragapede was born in 1996 and is a freelance performer, choreographer and teacher based in Brussels. She began her dance training under mentors such as Silvia Humaila, Sara Accettura, Ernesto Valenzano, Osnat Kelner, Kerry Nicholls and Yoshua Cienfuegos. She continued her training at Codarts in Rotterdam, where she worked with internationally famous choreographers including Club Guy & Roni, Lukas Timulak, Jiří Kylián and Raphael Bonachela. Following her graduation, she began her professional career with Marina Mascarell and Club Guy & Roni.
In 2018 she joined the Mainz State Theatre, where she performed in new works by Roy Assaf, Sharon Eyal, Club Guy & Roni, Victor Quijada, Felix Berner and Pierre Rigal. Since 2020 she has worked with Peeping Tom, and has appeared internationally in their productions Diptych and Triptych. She has also continued her work with Club Guy & Roni in productions such as Fortune (2022) and Empathy (2023).
Alongside her performing career, Eliana Stragapede has developed her choreographic practice. In 2022, together with Borna Babić, she created AMAE, which won first prize at the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition, as well as awards from the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Holstebro Dansekompagni, and partner awards from Codarts and Dansateliers at the Rotterdam International Choreographic Competition. In 2025 she and Akira Yoshida created Other Side.
In 2025 she and Borna Babić founded the dance company Paper Bridge. The duo has created works for the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 (as part of the Up & Coming project) and for the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, and premiered their independent production AMAE NO KŌZŌ. In 2026 they created a new work for the Xiexin Dance Theatre in Shanghai and an immersive site-specific performance for The Judgement Hall Festival in London. Projects with the National Theatre in Mannheim and with the Bavarian State Ballet are planned for 2027.
In 2024 Eliana Stragapede was named Performer of the Year by the Italian magazine Danza & Danza. Alongside her work as a dancer and choreographer, she gives workshops worldwide.
