Dmitry Mayboroda

Dmitry Mayboroda studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich with Adrian Oetiker. He is currently completing his training with Boris Petrushansky – a pupil of Heinrich Neuhaus – at the Accademia Pianistica of the Fondazione Accademia ‘incontri col Maestro’ in Imola, Italy.
He has participated in international music festivals such as the Rheingau Music Festival, the International Antalya Piano Festival, the Ravinia Festival in the USA and the Brazilian Winter Festival.
Since the 2020/21 season Dmitry Mayboroda has been a ballet pianist for the Bavarian State Ballet, where he has played for performances of Anna Karenina, The Lady of the Camellias, Paradigma: With a Chance of Rain and Jewels.
As a soloist he has performed with various symphony and chamber orchestras, among them the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra in Moscow, the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, the Belgian National Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg. In November 2022 Dmitry Mayboroda performed Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F major at Munich’s Prinzregententheater with the ATTACCA Youth Orchestra of the Bavarian State Orchestra under the baton of Allan Bergius.
Dmitry Mayboroda is a prize-winner of numerous competitions, among them the International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists in Moscow in 2010 (where he won the Grand Prix). In April 2017 he was the audience favourite and won second prize at the international piano competition Premio Jaén de Piano in Andalusia. In 2018 he was awarded both the Steinway Förderpreis Klassik in Munich and the audience prize at the young artists’ competition of the Concert Society in Ingolstadt.
Dmitry Mayboroda makes his Salzburg Festival debut in summer 2023.
