The Latvian baritone Daniils Pogoriless made his debut in 2023 as Masetto (Don Giovanni) at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, where he has subsequently sung Lotario in Handel’s Flavio, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) and, most recently, Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana). He has also sung Moralès (Carmen) at the Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele
In 2025 he won first prize at the Havets Röst Singing Competition in Åland and in 2024 he was a finalist in the Concorso Lirico Internazionale Ottavio Ziino in Rome. He also participated in the singing competition Operalia in 2022. From 2023 to 2025 he was a member of the Mascarade Opera Emerging Artist Programme, performing at the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and the Teatro della Pergola in Florence.
Daniils Pogoriless holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in Riga.
