Cornelia Mercedes Dexl was born in Graz as the second of seven children and has performed on the Graz stage since early childhood with various drama clubs and choirs, including TaO!, Das Podium, Next Liberty, the Graz Opera Singing School and the Schauspielhaus. In order to expand her later role profiles, she also trained as a competitive swimmer, became a violinist, learned the piano and joined a handball club.
After music high school, she studied journalism and medicine before taking up acting studies at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2020. She spent a “home semester” at Graz University of the Arts, during which time she performed in the production Moby Dick (director: Lorenz Nolting) at Schauspielhaus Graz.
In the 2023/24 season, she will be part of the acting studio at Theater Chemnitz. She will complete her acting studies in June 2024.
