Christian Serazzi graduated with honours from the Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo in 1987, having studied with Mauro Catalano, before studying with Piero Farulli of the Quartetto Italiano. Since 1992 he has been principal viola of the Orchestra of the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo and since 1998 has been principal viola of Ensemble Salotto ’800, the ensemble accompanying leading baritone Leo Nucci, and the Italian Chamber Opera Ensemble. He founded the Donizetti Opera Ensemble and the Quartetto Donizetti. Christian Serazzi teaches the viola at the Tito Schipa Conservatory of Music in Lecce and is artistic director of the International Baroque Weeks Festival in Brescia.
