During the 2025/26 season the Estonian mezzo-soprano Brigitta Listra has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, where she has sung Emilia in Verdi’s Otello and Une dame élégante in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias. In the 2026/27 season she will move to the Opera Studio of Hamburg State Opera, where she will make her debut as Schwertleite (Die Walküre). Brigitta Listra holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she studied with Laura Aikin. In university productions at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre she performed the roles of Tisbe (La Cenerentola), Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Mrs Grose (The Turn of the Screw), and also sang Zita (Gianni Schicchi) and the Princess (Suor Angelica) in Puccini’s Il trittico. In addition, she has sung the contralto solo in Mahler’s Second Symphony at St Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, and in 2021 performed in Mozart’s Requiem at the Église Saint-Guillaume in Strasbourg.
