The bass-baritone Blaž Stajnko was born in Maribor and is currently studying at the Ljubljana Academy of Music and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Matjaž Robavs, Ingo Kerkhof and Gerrit Prießnitz. He previously graduated from the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Maribor, where he specialized in piano and music theory.
In 2025 he won the Grand Prix at the Oper Oder Spree International Masterclass in Beeskow, where in summer 2026 he appears in the operetta Im weißen Rößl. In 2025 he also won first prize in his age group at the Slovenian Music Competition for Youth TEMSIG.
Blaž Stajnko has performed in numerous university productions, most recently as Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
