Benjamin Morrison was born in New Zealand in 1986 and was initially taught by his father before studying with Vesa-Matti Leppänen, concertmaster of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 13, he made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra and served for three years as concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra of New Zealand. He is a laureate of several national and international competitions.
From 2007 he studied with Yair Kless at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Graz. In 2009 he founded the Morrison Trio and is currently concertmaster of the chamber orchestra con fuoco. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera.
