Belendjwa Peter (er:sie / they:them) is a non-binary physical theatre artist, sex worker, actor, performer and choreographer. Born in Mönchengladbach in 1996 and raised in Birmingham, Belendjwa Peter gained musical theatre experience at college. He studied musical theatre at the Arts Educational Schools in London before transferring to the Folkwang University of the Arts in 2020 to study physical theatre. It was there that he:her solo musical Muinda was created, which was performed at Theater Spektakel and Theaterschiff Heilbronn, among others, and has been performed at Schauspiel Dortmund for four seasons. Belendjwa Peter appeared in Jan Böhmermann and Paul Kribbe’s television musical Der Eierwurf von Halle in the programme ZDF Magazin Royale. At Schauspiel Dortmund, he:she developed the choreography for Der Platz by Annie Ernaux (director: Julia Wissert). At the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Belendjwa Peter was seen together with Carla Wyrsch and Milena Cestao from the Physical Thatre degree programme in the production Orlando by Virginia Woolf (director: André Kaczmarczyk). Belendjwa Peter has been a member of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus ensemble since the 22/23 season and plays Clifford Bradshaw in Cabaret, directed by André Kaczmarczyk.

He:she also appeared in ‘Der gute Mensch von Sezuan’, directed by Bernadette Sonnenbichler, and in the children’s and family play Der Teufel mit den drei goldenen Haaren (directed by André Kaczmarczyk). An important part of his:her work is to pave the way for people who are also marginalised. Belendjwa is open to workshops and continues to develop her own musicals, such as Livi and the Hairs.
