Artem Prokopchuk was born in Vinnytsia in Ukraine. He trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and at the ballet school of the Hamburg Ballet. Prior to becoming a member of the Hamburg Ballet in 2019, he performed from 2017 to 2019 with the National Youth Ballet of Germany and Le vie del teatro in terra di Siena. His repertory includes roles in ballets by John Neumeier such as Flute / Thisbe in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jaschu in Death in Venice, a Thorn Spirit in the new version of The Sleeping Beauty (2021), Spokesman for the Carpenters in Illusions – Like Swan Lake, and a solo role in Beethoven Project II. He has also appeared as Shepherd’s Father in Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale.
