The architect and urban planner Alessio Valmori co-founded the ‘de Gayardon Bureau’ – a practice specializing in architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning – with Sara Angelini. The company is based in Cesena.
Since 2017 he has collaborated regularly with Romeo Castellucci as an artistic associate on set design. In this context he has been involved in numerous productions at internationally renowned opera houses, including the Paris Opéra, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Berlin State Opera, the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam and the Salzburg Festival.
With ‘de Gayardon Bureau’ he has won many prizes in international architecture and urban-planning competitions, and has presented his projects at several universities. In 2016 his work was exhibited at the Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (MAXXI) in Rome, and in 2014 and 2018 it featured in the Architecture Biennale in Venice.
Alessio Valmori studied architecture in Florence and graduated with a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the Università Iuav di Venezia.
He taught for seven years at the Istituto Europo di Design (IED) in Florence.
