The pianist and répétiteur Alessandro Stefanelli was born in 1994 and studied piano and composition at the Conservatorio di Musica Nino Rota in Monopoli (Italy) with Paola Bruni, Benedetto Lupo and Riccardo Panfili. Engagements so far have taken him to the Bavarian State Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.
In the 2022/23 season he was engaged as répétiteur and musical assistant to Andris Nelsons for Tannhäuser at the Salzburg Easter Festival, played for the opening performance of the season at the Teatro Real and worked on performances of Aida there under the musical direction of Nicola Luisotti.
From 2019 to 2022 Alessandro Stefanelli was a répétiteur at the Bavarian State Opera, where he was previously a member of the Opera Studio as a pianist from 2017 to 2019. In the 2019/20 season he worked on 7 Deaths of Maria Callas, an opera project conceived by Marina Abramović, and on the world premiere of Hans Abrahamsen’s The Snow Queen. In the 2021/22 season he was engaged as the musical co-ordinator of the Fabbrica Young Artists Programme at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, which he had taken part in himself in 2016/17.
Alessandro Stefanelli has musical partnerships with the singers Carlos Álvarez, Piotr Beczała, Diana Damrau, Barbara Hannigan, Anja Harteros, Anna Netrebko, Ailyn Pérez, Dorothea Röschmann, Krassimira Stoyanova and Pretty Yende, and with the conductors Ivor Bolton, Gianluca Capuano, Asher Fisch, Antonino Fogliani, Antonello Manacorda, Michele Mariotti, Cornelius Meister and Daniele Rustioni.
