Margit Ann Berger was born in Matrei in the East Tyrol in 1971. She graduated from the Ortwein School of Visual Design in Graz, where she concentrated on decoration and design, before studying architecture in Innsbruck. She subsequently attended courses in stage and costume design as well as film and exhibition architecture at the Salzburg Mozarteum.
Margit Ann Berger has produced the designs for several theatre productions as well as various exhibitions. Since 2002 she has been deputy head of design at the Salzburg Festival. She is a keen graphic artist and painter and is also active as a yoga teacher.
