The Polish tenor Krystian Adam is especially in demand for performances of 17th- and 18th-century repertory, and works regularly with well-known conductors such as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Giovanni Antonini, Fabio Biondi, Ivor Bolton, Fabio Bonizzoni, Riccardo Chailly, Teodor Currentzis, Václav Luks, Stefano Montanari, Daniel Oren, Raphaël Pichon, Christoph Spering and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.

In the 2023/24 season his performances included Messiah at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Der fliegende Holländer at the Teatro Regio in Turin.

In 2017 he performed principal roles under John Eliot Gardiner in the anniversary project Monteverdi 450. Other important past engagements include Le nozze di Figaro at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and the Dutch National Opera, Idomeneo, Apollo et Hyacinthus and Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno at the Teatro La Fenice, Idomeneo at the Teatro Real in Madrid as well as in London, Tel Aviv and Athens, Joe (La fanciulla del West) and Telemaco (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) at La Scala, Milan, Aronne (Mosè in Egitto) in Naples, Grimoaldo (Rodelinda) at the Opéra national de Lyon, Szymanowski’s King Roger at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Cavalli’s Ercole amante at the Opéra Comique, Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex with the Berlin Philharmonic, Haydn’s Orfeo (L’anima del filosofo) in Düsseldorf and Graz, Dialogues des Carmélites for the season opening at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Zingarelli’s Giulietta e Romeo in Versailles and Orlando paladino with Il Giardino Armonico on a tour of Spain.

His festival performances have included appearances at the BBC Proms, Glyndebourne Festival and the Lucerne Festival, Scarlatti’s Griselda at the Festival della Valle d’Itria and Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista at the Salzburg Festival.

On the concert platform his performances include Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli, Bach’s St Matthew Passion with the Akademie für Alte Musik in Berlin and Munich and Messiah on tour with Collegium 1704.

Krystian Adam graduated from the Music Academy in Wrocław and continued his studies at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan.
