Julie Fuchs

Soprano Julie Fuchs has established herself as one of the most versatile musical artists of our time, dazzling audiences in the world’s premiere opera houses and concert halls. She graduated with honours from the Paris Conservatoire, was second prizewinner at Operalia in 2013 and was awarded two Victoires de Musique prizes in 2012 and 2014.

Operatic highlights during the 2018/19 season include Fiorilla (Il turco in Italia) at the Zurich Opera and Eurydice (Orphée aux enfers) at the Avignon Opéra. Concert highlights include solo recitals at the Philharmonie and the Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the Opéra de Versailles, the Opéra national du Rhin and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, as well as appearing in Carmina Burana with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine.

Recent operatic highlights include Marie (La Fille du régiment) at the Vienna State Opera, Countess Adèle in the Opéra Comique’s new production of Le Comte Ory, Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, which was recorded on the Pentatone label, Morgana (Alcina) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the title role in L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Zurich Opera, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Esther (Luca Francesconi’s Trompe-la-Mort) and Folly (Rameau’s Platée) at the Paris Opéra and Giunia (Lucio Silla) at the Teatro Real Madrid.

Julie Fuchs’s recent appearances on the concert platform include a concert of US music at the Chorégies d’Orange Festival, Mozart’s ‘Great’ C minor Mass at the Salzburg Festival, her debut at the 2016 BBC Proms with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and a concert at the Philharmonie in Berlin with the German Symphony Orchestra.

In 2014 Julie Fuchs signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Her first solo album, Yes!, was released the following year. Her second album, Made-moiselle, was released in February 2019.
