The mezzo-soprano Federica Spatola studied with Alessandra Mantovani at the Conservatorio Arcangelo Corelli in Messina and trained further with Mietta Sighele, Marcello Giordani and Tiziana Fabbricini. She also deepened her knowledge of artistic phoniatrics with Dr Alfonso Gianluca Gucciardo.

Thanks to the flexibility and wide range of her voice, Federica Spatola can sing both mezzo-soprano and soprano roles. Her career as a soloist has taken her to renowned international venues. She has sung Nireno (Giulio Cesare) alongside Cecilia Bartoli at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Annina in a concert performance of La traviata at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival in 2025. She has covered the role of Aida in a production in Monte Carlo, and her repertory also includes Elisabetta di Valois (Don Carlo), Amneris (Aida), Lolette (La rondine) and Kate Pinkerton and Cio-Cio-San’s Mother (Madama Butterfly), the last of which she sang under Daniel Oren at the Arena di Verona.

Federica Spatola has worked with conductors including Antonio Pappano, Gianluca Capuano and Massimo Zanetti. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Prior to this, she had a close working relationship with the Fondazione Arena di Verona. She has won numerous singing competitions, including the AsLiCo and Flaviano Balò competitions. In 2025 she completed Level 2 of the Estill Voice Training. She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Performing Arts Medicine at the Università Niccolò Cusano. She has also trained extensively in classical, modern and contemporary dance.
