Antonios Koutroupis begun studying Byzantine music at the age of 11 and attended the Byzantine Music Academy in Cyprus. He graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory and continued his vocal studies in Italy, where he was precentor of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St George in Venice. He was then invited to teach and sing Byzantine music at the Festival of Orthodox Music in St Petersburg in 2012.
He has amassed significant experience as a soloist in Cyprus, Italy and Russia.
From 2018 he has directed musicAeterna byzantina.
