1) What does it mean for you to be finalist of the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award?
Being one of the final list of the Festival means a precious opportunity in my career and I very appreciate the committee for their trust. I will be trying my best for it. I also would like to say the opportunity is meaningful in my life as the date (11th May) when I will conduct the concert is my 24th birthday. To me, I can tell you this is the best birthday present I have ever had.
2) What comes in your mind if you hear the words: Salzburg and Salzburg Festival?
When I hear Salzburg, I know that it is such a fantastic city and of course the hometown of Mozart. When I hear Salzburg Festival, I always tell myself this is the greatest music festival where the greatest musicians and artists come together.
3) What is your musical guideline, what drives you in your career? Do you have a role model?
My musical guideline is to create beautiful music and to share it with people. What drives me in my career is music itself, the great music. Actually, I don’t have a certain role model in my career. In my opinion there are so many great musicians in the world and I can learn so much from them.
4) What does music in general mean to you? What do you want to achieve in your life?
To me, music is means eternity. I want to be a musician, not only just a conductor.
5) What was your most inspiring experience in your profession?
Last May, I conducted the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra successfully and my performance was approved by all musicians in the orchestra and they all expected to cooperate with me in the future.
