ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Richard Strauss' Die Liebe der Danae, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro for young audiences – does that work? The children and teenagers participating in the three one-week Opera Camps present their own versions of these operas. After a week of having studied the music and plot, the figures and their feelings, they bring to the stage what has impressed, touched or astonished them about these two operas. As musicians, singers, actors and set designers, they summarise the two opera plots, giving the audience a lasting impression in no time!

Age: from 9 upward
Duration: ca. 60 minutes

( 5 Nov 2015 ) The fact that Salzburg is occasionally a magical place can be experienced first-hand by our youngest guests, as they discover this year’s children’s opera The Fairy Queen, produced especially for the Salzburg Festival. The audience is taken on a journey into the magical world of Titania, Queen of the Fairies. The opera, lasting approximately 60 minutes, has been conceived based on motifs from William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen.
