With the Young Singers Project, the Salzburg Festival has created a high-carat platform to support rising young singers in 2008. Young singers are selected through international auditions for the Young Singers Project and work with Festival artists as part of their scholarship in Salzburg. Tuition includes not only musical aspects, but also scenic rehearsals, diction coaching and repertoire expansion. These encounters and the practical application within the framework of the Festival make the YSP an education programme that serves as an international model.
The members of the Young Singers Project will perform as part of Opera viva and of Die Zauberflöte für Kinder (The Magic Flute for Children) and also appear in productions of the 2012 Festival Season.
