The award-winning chef Johanna Maier and her sons will treat guests to an early-summer menu created especially with the Festival in mind. Johanna Maier’s cuisine is known for her mission to be in synch with the seasons and nature. She pampers the palates of her international guests with her virtuoso use of spices. The Austrian chef is the first and so far only to be awarded four toques by the restaurant guide Gault-Millau and two stars by the Guide Michelin.
On the occasion of Anne-Sophie Mutter’s 40-year stage anniversary at the Festival, Cecilia Bartoli hosts a charity lunch at the Karl-Böhm-Saal. The net proceeds will be shared by the Salzburg Festival’s youth programmes and the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.
For the charity lunch, which takes place immediately after the anniversary concert by Anne-Sophie Mutter, who will also attend the lunch, Johanna Maier has designed the following menu:
MARININATED BROOK TROUT
Asparagus — Elderflower — Pomelo
ICED PEA SOUP
Mint — Buttermilk — Blossom Brioche
MAY VENISON FROM THE LUNGAU
Morels — Aronia Berries — Fried Potato Gnocchi
Treetop Spruce Honey — Lemon Balm Parfait
Aperitive and wine accompaniment
