Individual tickets for the 2017 Salzburg Whitsun Festival now available online

The 2017 Salzburg Whitsun Festival features George Frideric Handel’s Ariodante
under the baton of Diego Fasolis, with Nathan Berg and Cecilia Bartoli in the leading roles. Gioachino Rossini’s La donna del lago
will be performed in concert, with Cecilia Bartoli as Elena and Edgardo Rocha as Giacomo V.
In the ballet department, you may look forward to La Sylphide, a ballet in two acts by August Bournonville. The ballet company of the Mariinsky Theatre from St. Petersburg, with Alina Somova and Philipp Stein as soloists, will enchant its audience. In the orchestra pit, the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra will perform the score by Herman Severin Løvenskiold.
During the anniversary concert with Anne-Sophie Mutter, the Großes Festspielhaus will witness works by Franz Schubert and Antonio Vivaldi. The concert department also offers a performance by the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the baton of Antonio Pappano, as well as an aria matinee with countertenor Emanuel Cencic, Armonia Atenea and conductor George Petrou. There will also be a charity lunch cooked by Johanna Maier & Söhne to benefit the Salzburg Festival’s education projects and the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.
