For more than 10 years, the Salzburg Festival, Siemens Austria, Unitel Classical and ORF Salzburg have been hosting the Siemens Festival>Nights on Kapitelplatz in Salzburg’s historical city centre. These have developed into an attractive part of the Salzburg Festival summer, widely known and recognised. Every year, more than 70,000 visitors from all over the world follow the opera and concert highlights screened via state-of-the-art audio and video technology for free – often, when premieres are broadcast live, at the same time as the premiere audience inside the theatre! The Siemens Festival>Nights begin on July 26 at 8 pm with a Jedermann Night
, featuring the current 2013 production of Jedermann
and the 2002 production immediately afterwards. With Don Giovanni, Der Rosenkavalier, Il trovatore
and the concert of the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, shown through August 31, a large part of this year’s Festival’s new productions can be seen here without admission.
During the same period, the Siemens Children’s>Festival takes place again, offering playful access to culture to the youngest members of the Festival audience. Every Friday to Sunday from 4 pm onwards, a children’s opera, ballet or play will be shown on Kapitelplatz.
