Audiences will have the opportunity to see some of the most popular operatic masterpieces from Giuseppe Verdi and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Falstaff, La Traviata, Don Carlo
and The Magic Flute for children
, shown on a large screen at the Crystal, adding a musical touch to the Royal Victoria Dock this summer.
The Siemens Festival Nights will be a unique opera experience for everyone. It marks the anniversary of the opening of the Crystal, a Sustainable Cities Initiative by Siemens, which houses the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to the future of cities, which attracted more than 85,000 since it opened last September. The uniquely shaped, glass-clad structure is one of the most sustainable buildings in the world.
The festival will begin in the evening of Friday, 30th August, with the first showing at 7pm.

- Public picnic with Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata as background opera

Sunday, 1st September
- Matinee screening for kids of W.A. Mozart’s The Magic Flute (11am)
Tickets are available for a registration fee of £5 in advance via the registration website www.thecrystal.org/events/. This is a non-profit event. Choose to donate your £5 to local charities, or exchange for a £5 food and drink voucher to be used on the day.)The chosen charity is The Newham People’s Trust which provides grants to individuals in support of educational pursuits.
