The program for the last days of this year’s Festival summer is packed with great names. Apart from the
Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, which performs on August 21 under Daniele Gatti and with Frank Peter Zimmermann (violin), the
London Symphony Orchestra performs at the Großes Festspielhaus on August 23 under Valery Gergiev and the
Vienna Philharmonic on August 25 and 27 under conductor Bernard Haitink and with pianist Murray Perahia. The program also features the
Berlin Philharmonic on August 26, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and with pianist Yefim Bronfman, as well as the
Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig under the baton of Riccardo Chailly on August 30. You can hear the
Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst on August 28 and
29, the second of which also features pianist Krystian Zimerman – or the
Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam on August 31. The latter will be conducted by Mariss Jansons, and Leonidas Kavakos (violin) will be the soloist. The Orchestra Finale ends on September 1, when the
Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro alla Scala perform with soloists Anja Harteros, Elīna Garanča, Jonas Kaufmann and René Pape; Daniel Barenboim conducts.

The Salzburg Festival is delighted that five of the best orchestras in the world will all perform within a good week in Salzburg.* Elected by international music critics, five of the above-mentioned orchestras are ranked among the top ten: the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra.
Come let yourself be enchanted by these orchestras – secure your tickets for a concert at the Orchestra Finale and let the Salzburg Festival end on a musical high note!
