Vision
The word “development” – a term familiar to Americans – as applied to art and culture means: expansion, growth, exploration. In addition to the existing associations of Friends, the responsibility of the Development Department of the Salzburg Festival is to find new sponsors, patrons and supporters, to design youth programs as well as to conceptualize future models of support.
Economic autonomy
The Salzburg Festival raises a large part of its budget itself: its economic autonomy of over 70% is unique among comparable cultural institutions in continental Europe. The average rate of self-financing of German-language opera houses is currently 13%.
Sponsors, patrons and supporters contribute a sum of about € 5,5 million – a major step on the way to making the Festival happen.
Partnership
The Salzburg Festival considers itself fortunate to be able to count prominent corporations, foundations and personalities among its sponsors and patrons, and thanks its sponsors, patrons, supporters and Friends, as well as the public authorities, which subsidize it, for their generous support!
The Salzburg Festival embodies the highest quality and aspiration – an image from which corporations can profit. Our partners invest in an institution that is both a keeper of traditions as well as a trendsetter. It offers a high return on investment regarding charisma, prestige and measurable benefits.
If you are interested in supporting the Salzburg Festival or in the detailed sponsorship program as well as the projects in need of support, please let us know, and we will be delighted to send you further information.
