The ‘Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award’ is an initiative of Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival. In the festival season 2016, this award – endowed with € 15,000 – will be granted to a young conductor for the seventh time.
The jury will select three final candidates among all the applicants; these will receive the opportunity to conduct concerts with the Salzburg Camerata as well with a member of the Young Singers Project on August 5, 6 and 7, 2016 as part of the Salzburg Festival.
The winner will then be selected by the jury and announced to the audience. In its deliberations, the jury will pay special attention to the interpretation of contemporary works – next to the Classical and Romantic repertoire.

This concert will be broadcast by ORF live (with delay) on august 7 at 11:03 am on the Ö1 channel.
