Meri Ahmaniemi

After finishing her contemporary dance studies at the University of the Arts in Amsterdam, Finnish-born Meri Ahmaniemi started working with the award-winning Dutch choreographer Nanine Linning. When the latter took over the dance company of the Theater Osnabrück, Meri Ahmaniemi became a member of the ensemble for two years and worked with other renowned choreographers such as Melissa King and Joost Vrouenraets. After a short break, in which she finished her yoga studies in India, Meri Ahmaniemi moved to Berlin and has been working at the Komische Oper since 2012, appearing in various productions by director Barrie Kosky and choreographer Otto Pichler, including Orpheus, Ball im Savoy, West Side Story and Kiss Me, Kate. She has also appeared in Clivia and Heute Nacht oder nie, directed by Stefan Huber and choreographed by Danny Costello. In addition to her theatrical work, Meri Ahmaniemi works as a yoga and fitness instructor.
