Bart David Soroczynski
Bart David Soroczynski was born in Poland in 1980 as the son of two circus artists, he grew up in Canada and began practicing with his father at an early age making his first stage appearance at the age of five. In addition to studying dance and music he is a graduate of the Montreal National Circus School. In 2002 he had his first role in the show Nomade (Cirque Éloize directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca) taking him around the world. Since then his focus has been on theatre, taking part in various projects and workshops in Buenos Aires, Montreal, Paris, New York and London. He has trained with John Strasberg, Nadine George, Philippe Gaulier, Marcello Magni, Jordan Beswick, Cicely Berry, among others. 2007 Philippe Muyl offered him a role in his film Magique. In 2011, he debuted in London at the Arcola Theatre alongside Kathryn Hunter in Tell Them That I Am Young and Beautiful directed by Marcello Magni. He is now in preparation for work with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Roles include Doctor Caius in The Merry Wives of Windsor directed by Phillip Breen and various parts in an adaptation of The Mouse And His Child directed by Paul Hunter.
Other roles and projects include: Julien Sorel in The Scarlet and The Black with the Théâtre du Conte Amer and Arlequin in the Island of The Slaves by Marivaux, Papa You’re Crazy directed by Nora Armani, Tiresias in Oedipus Rex with the Trama Theatre Company directed by Luca Giacomoni and Missing with the Gecko Theatre Company directed by Amit Lahav.
His cooperation with Irina Brook began in 2008 with Somewhere…La Mancha.
