INFORMATION

A special kind of piano recital, not only as regards the programme — it includes the monumental Concord Sonata by Charles Ives (and because of its extreme difficulty is rarely played), Stockhausen’s epoch-making Mantra as well as the most recent piano music by Salvatore Sciarrino and Tristan Murail — but also with regard to the performers: the “local hero” Markus Hinterhäuser, well known to Salzburg Festival audiences, encounters Christopher Tainton and the Duo Andreas Grau /Götz Schumacher.
